In a classic case of life imitating art, Game of Thrones‘ on-screen lovers, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, are a real-life couple.

Better know as man of the Night’s Watch Jon Snow and wildling Ygritte, the pair made their relationship official when cosying up on the red carpet at the Olivier Awards at the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden on Sunday after months of speculation.

Leslie, 29, swapped her well-worn furs for a Malene Oddershede Bach gold and black embroidered full-length gown from the AW16 collection. The metallic piece made the flame-haired Scottish actor a standout on the night, even ahead of everyone’s favourite „is he or isn’t he dead” GoT hero.

Harington, 29, kept it classic in a black tux with his tousled curls long and gelled, in typical Jon Snow fashion.

Although he said he could „chop off” his hair after his character was stabbed to death and left in a pool of blood at the end of season five, keeping the style he was contractually required to maintain as cast on the HBO drama had prompted speculation he might return to the hit show. (Crazier things have happened, remember that shadow baby?)

Jon, who broke his sacred sex vows with Ygritte in the cave, started talk of a real-life romance in 2012. However, they were rumoured to have split a year later.

They then were spotted in 2014 acting like a couple and „holding hands”.

The uber-private British couple upped the ante in January this year when shopping in Los Angeles, hand-in-hand.

They have yet to speak publicly about their romance.

However, co-star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) confirmed they were an item when speaking to Entertainment Tonight in January.

„My goodness! You know, we like to spread the love on our show. It’s a beautiful thing,” Clarke sad. „She’s one of my best friends, so it’s good.”

Clarke added:, „I mean, there are worse things than being caught kissing Jon Snow!”

Preach, Clarke!

The season six premiere of Game of Thrones airs on HBO on April 24.
